I still say someone here ticked off "Mother Nature".

But then again, it can snow in March and even April (such as last year....).

There is talk of snow now Friday into Saturday, but I'm hearing that "mixed with rain" word again...

I know you were being "tongue in cheek" but I just think we were probably due for something like this after several years of above average snowfall....

What's the point of snow in March and April? Not like winter is coming or snow will stay on ground. It's Spring, let it be Spring.

5 more days till Meteo Spring. Time to move on.

My backyard since November 1st.
Days with Rain falling: 37
Days with snow falling: 23
Days with over 1" snowfall: 2
Number of days with 2"+ snowpack: 1

That's just it!

It snowed 3 inches here (in SWNJ) last week only to approx., 99% to melt by the end of the next day.

Maybe a Noreaster in March, but I just don't see it because of the Pacific weather pattern unless a quick drastic pattern change takes place.

I welcome spring as I've been no longer a snow fan since my 2 degenerative back discs "smart" especially in the colder months so I thank MN. It's a drag getting old.

Meteorological seasons are meaningless in my opinion. In the northeast, there is nothing remotely resembling spring on March 1st. Unless the sound of crows and the sight of partially melted snow harkens spring time to you.

But summer is almost as bad. September is meteorological fall but it almost always resembles summer more than fall.

Here are my custom made seasons for Connecticut!

Winter: November through March.

Spring: April and May.

Summer: June through September.

Fall: October.

My sentiment exactly. Winter is over. Lingering in March and April is annoying.

Memo to winter. Here in the northeast you had your chance. Now GTFO ..we welcome you with open arms next December.

Mud Season: Apr.1 - Apr.30

Spring: May 1-15

Summer: May 15 - Oct. 5

Pretty Colors: Oct. 5- Oct. 20

Pre Winter (everything's dead but there's no snow- my least favorite time of year): Oct.20 - Nov. 15

.56" of rain at Brainard Airport.

Today's day length was 11 hours even:
SR - 6:34 AM
SS - 5:34 PM

The clock goes ahead in 2 weeks.

The high wind warning has me scared. This is similar to my birthday in 2011. I did an overnight trip to Philadelphia. Clouds increased heading south on the 24th. It poured for a time in Center City on the 25th in the 8 am hour. There was a wind advisory for much of the bus ride back to NYC and then New Britain.

Seems to me like a short blast of high wind isn't usually a big deal, but this is from 10pm to 5pm.. with the worst being around 9am... wonder what'll happen, sitting here waiting for it to show up, LOVE falling asleep to wind in the winter.
