Min-Max temps today. Looks like a 25-35 degree range from Virginias to Southern New England.

35 to 62 at Danbury.
37 to 62 at BDL
46 to 64 at BDR
for sure, I stepped out of work and thought "hmm this isn't good" got down to the dock and it was a full on wind storm.. could hardly get out of the slip!

3 Maps...

This is the front that will kick off the pattern change to a colder and more snow chances one.

Tuesday Night/Wed morning front comes across. Behind it 510 thickness line in Midwest = Dry-Cold Arctic air. Rain changes to snow for higher elevations (2000'+) with this front.

Next Thursday night....

As the front is off shore, there is still moisture around falling into the cold air and a coastal storm develops along the front and heads out to sea. This could be our 1st accumulating snow chance. Still 7 days away so probably will change. Might be too dry behind the front OR bit too warm still near the front.

Monday 11th... Clipper time. Cold Airmass is already in place. 522 thickness over CT so would be all snow.

But again... still 11 days away so hard to believe. But at least we're seeing this being shown as opposed to boring and nothing but rain showers and dry warmth like we been having past 7 days

These cold mornings are a huge drag. It reminds me why I will always love the fact I have a garage.

Wow Accuweather has us ICY the second half of December. I did not put in weather forecasts because they are crap, but the temps they get at least a good sense of the pattern. This is for Danbury.

Unless it is a really dry period of cold (December 1989 is a really good example,), a 2 week period that cold almost certainly will get some snow if those numbers prove to be true

No doubt..in fact they indicate several snow chances..i just dont like to rely on that part as its basically a guess.

I only use the garage when it snows. I don't mind going outside in the cold and warming up the car and scraping ice and feeling the chill. Helps me acclimate faster and get immuned to it more. Don't hide from it!

Yeah, the change is definitely a different look from past couple yrs. Finally a front loaded winter? Maybe we'll get an early Spring instead of cold and blizzards in March? lol
