The only rain I saw on the ride back to CT was a hefty sprinkle/almost shower east of Trenton on the NJ Turnpike. Want to say between exit 6 and 8?

This weather makes me glad we decided to open the pool ourselves. Saved ourselves the hassle of having to reschedule to wait for warmer days. At least we enjoyed a little bit of sun this afternoon--maybe 4.5 hours? Wondering if it'll be warm enough in 2-3 weeks to have it open for Father's Day?

Don't ever forget this month...

Hartford -0.9 departure so far, only 5 days above normal..

NYC stands at -0.9 degrees for Month Average departure yet only 6 days were above normal with the max temp. 5 with the minimum.

Without those few hot days it would of been at least -2 below normal this month.

19 days the max stayed below 70. Most since 2005.

This cold needs to go. It's getting annoying. Hope June helps it by being above average.

Agreed! Even at over 70 it's still chilly just sitting without sun. (perhaps I should have a t-shirt on instead of a tank)

Clouds again this morning and drizzling. I went through my timelapse images and better confirmed the hours of sun.

Only 12 hours of sun in the last 180 hours (7.5 days) here!.

Last full sunny day we had was May 21st. Ongoing since Mid April

Rain Rain Rain. A Front and 2 low pressure systems today.

Quote:
National Weather Service New York NY
502 AM EDT Mon May 29 2017

A low pressure system approaches passes through into this
evening. A weak cold front approaches from the west Tuesday,
then crosses the area Tuesday night...followed by another on
Wednesday. High pressure then builds to the south through
Thursday night. Another cold front approaches on Friday then
slowly crosses the area Friday night.

Light rain showers continue to move north and east this morning
in association with frontal system approaching the area from
the west.

Two areas of low pressure will be the focus of
precipitation over the region. One weak, broad low to our
northwest, near the Eastern Great Lakes region, and another
stronger low developing well east of the Delmarva peninsula that
is forecast to pass well south and east of the area
. Much of the
tri-state will be caught in between these two lows, leading to
relatively heavier rainfall for portions of the Lower Hudson
Valley (closer to the low near the Great Lakes) southern
and eastern portions of the area, such as Northeast New Jersey,
New York City and Long Island (closer to the low offshore).
Connecticut should see lower amounts as they will be farther
away from both lows.

In general, rainfall amounts have been
lowered to between a 0.25"-0.50". However, amounts could end up
even lower than this, but not confident on lowering them that
drastically given uncertainty in placement of lows.

Unseasonably cool temperatures today as clouds and rain keep
temperatures in the upper 50s
to around 60 for highs, some 10 to
15 degrees below normal.

Looks like the next 2 days will insure the month stays below normal at NYC and BDL. Wednesday the 31st is supposed to be above normal, but it doesn't look like enough to tip the month above normal.

And if this "10 day" for NYC is to be believed, the coolness continues into June:

Will be nice to have a minus in the departure data but one cant forget that it could of been deeper if it wasn't for those 3-4 days only.

Last time Bridgeport was more than 1 below normal for May was 2005. So its been over a decade since we experienced this cold of a May. Probably longer as I said those couple days skewing the data

I bet if you eliminate those 4 days it's been since the 1960s since we experienced this cold of a May
