Snow today is beautiful.

Storm #1 is winding down now. Lots of compaction and sublimation out there already. (snowpack dropping). Looks like a general 3-6" across CT. In line with many forecasts I guess.

1:05pm radar and metars. Light blues = flurries. Darker blues are past CT now. To the west looks like some scattered snow squalls around.

Now.................. onto SnowStorm #2. Missing us to the south...tonight.

Storm #3.... Hang on

Close my eyes and or wish I were someplace else.

I think that we here won't get away with nothing with #3.

The shovel-less winter is in the balance.

Storm #3 Tuesday March 14, 2017...

Latest 3 main models...

GFS says track will be very close to the coast. Heavy snow to Heavy rain for us. 8-10" of snow before changing to heavy rains

Canadian says it stays well off shore, all snow but not much precip. Heaviest is over the Atlantic. 2-4" of snow for us

Lastly........Euro......... Well........ This.... Basically 1-2 Feet of all snow.

Ok here is the BIG $60,000 question.

Which is usually the most accurate model?

Euro is crowned the King for a reason. GFS has never been able to catch up. Neither Canadian. Euro has had great scores and they do keep track by "skill scores". But.... there is no guarantee. These are details we are trying to figure out and that WILL ALWAYS CHANGE.

Euro has been locked in that the storm is staying off shore and phasing the Polar Jet Stream and Sub Tropical Jet stream perfectly for us to get snow. That's where it could score the points...Not how much precip is with this storm. How much, that will come over the weekend.

Well then snow lovers should love the Euro!

According to the Euro, where I am is due for almost 2 feet of snow - although that might count today's minor storm.

Anyway, what I want is a major snow or none at all. What I don't want is some snow to make a horrible commute but not enough snow to get a day off.

Is the cape supposed to get smoked with like 36 inches of snow according to that Euro model....damn. Winds would be brutal too. Cape cod is going to be shut down.
