Are you guys enjoying todays weather? 64° in White Plains

An Arctic front will come through Saturday April 2nd and we will be getting bitter cold for Early April and it might not warm up until April 7th.

It's dreary out raining off and on up here in Naugy. Fog is still lingering not as bad as before. Warmer then yesterday and less wind. Sun is slowly peeking out of the clouds.

Very interesting. Of course, "Arctic" front given the time of year and how this season has gone, could mean highs in the 40s!

Yeah, your right. Normal high BDR is 55. BDL 57. So well below normal would be in the 40s. Still for April, that will feel cold. But the GFS is being the GFS and saying Max temps will be breaking April's records which means struggling past 30s. Still too early for details like that.

Also.. teens/low 20s for Lows. Mornings will feel frigid if this happens.

Freeze warnings will have to go out for the Mid Atlantic if it digs down to the south as shown. Could be below freezing in the northern Gulf states and down to North Carolina.

Should I post a map just to look back and see how crazy it was?

Hang on

lol. Ok, here it is. Keep in mind 4 things.

1. Its been showing this for a couple days now but still 9-12 days away
2. It might not be for 1 day either. Could be a few days worth of this cold.
3. Its not a forecast, don't use exacts, just know it's a damn cold airmass coming. Polar Vortex basically dropping south
4. Dates can be off 1 or 2 days

Minimum Temps per GFS12z for Monday April 4th

Max Temps per GFS12z for Monday April 4th

And with this type of setup/pattern it DOES scream chances for Snow. This time of year the puzzle has smaller pieces so its harder to find them to fit all together. (good analogy?)

It's either going to be snow showers or if the Sub Tropical Jet stream wants to dance then can be a snowstorm somewhere from Ohio Valley to Northeast

Accu Maps for the AAB .... "April Arctic Blast"

Min/Max temps could be like the normal for February. We'll see.

Bridgeport Feb 17th normal Max is 40°. Normal Low is 26°.

Not sure if I missed the storm. Some dark ominous clouds to the Southeast. Blue skies to the north, a bright sun set to the west, and a grayish sky to the South. Looks like the storm is moving Easy with a decent amount of wind.
