Some interesting stats I found for Central Park that reflect how cold this start to June has been:

1) If it can be cool enough to eke out 5 more Heating Degree Days (will be close, might get a couple today but that's probably it as it starts to get warmer) it would be the first time ever that June had more of them than May (this May, though only the 2nd warmest in history, had the least HDD of any May in their 140+ year record, as 1991 had some 90+ degree highs to raise the average against some cooler days while there were no 90+ degree highs this year. To give you an idea, many Junes (including last year) have no HDD's.

2) Yesterday (and barely, mainly due to warmer nighttime lows under cloud cover) was the first day this June that Central Park recorded any Cooling Degree Days, I am wondering if that is the longest into June before the month's first CDD.

(For those not in the know, Degree Days are a measure of how much a day's average temperature deviates from a mean of 65, since scientists feel that is the average temperature that is ideal for clothed human comfort.....it's used to compare the heating and a/c needs of one city vs. another).

80s start on Wednesday. No widespread 90s yet though mid June. Looks close to normal/slightly above. No torch pattern in sight.

BDR had coldest June 1-6 period on record.

I was on a Manhattan-bound train earlier today and thought I saw a snow pile in New Rochelle. The pile was roughly 10 feet high and 30 feet wide, and was behind 18-30 Centre Avenue, I think.

On that ironic note ....

Top 100 Winter 2014-15 Snowfall Totals.

Marquette #1. Philly made the list. Providence made it to Top 20. NYC in there.
CT Coast had more then Duluth Minnesota & Barrow Alaska.
Hartford 26th most for all of U.S Sites. 23.3" above normal.
Syracuse ended up a tad below normal but still tied for 4th place in total snowfall.

What else do you find interesting?

Do my eyes deceive me or is Albany, NY missing? Who else is missing from the list?

If so, that's a pure omission. No way did Albany total < 27".

Oh wow!!! Nice catch! Albany is not listing snowfall in the CLI report which is where the list derived from so that's why its missing.

If you click archives and go to June 1, you'll see snowfall listed, but the latest date its not. Ugh

Will add them and repost. Goodbye Philly I guess. Lol

I caught 3 other locations that stopped listing snowfall totals in their CLI reports. Thanks for pointing out Albany.

Albany, NY
Nome, AK
Williamsport, PA
Harrisburg, PA

That means 4 locations dropped out of the Top 100 list. Sorry Philly. lol

BLACKSBURG,VA
DAYTON, OH
LOUISVILLE, KY
PHILADELPHIA, PA

CORRECTED GRAPHIC..

Top 100 Winter 2014-15 Snowfall Totals.

Bridgeport had the same amount as Nome, Alaska.

That 90" deficit from normal in parts of Alaska.

Unreal.
