I know the Cincinnati team which played in the same soccer league that Hartford is about to join did play at the University of Cincinnati football stadium. Now that Cincy has joined the MLS there is a league mandate to play in a soccer only stadium. It may be possible for the Rent to host some games if they don't conflict with UConn Football.

Simply put , the Rent is too much to Rent for the Hartford Athletics business model. There are also logistical and management issues that contribute to the Rent being only a temporary location.

A beer garden is coming to the Pump Hose in Bushnell Park. https://www.courant.com/news/connect...ptDheeidb5vjog

Following the success of a pop-up beer garden on Pratt Street during the men’s NCAA tournament in downtown Hartford in March, two local brewing companies and a long-time pizza restaurant are teaming up to launch a similar venture in Bushnell Park this summer.

After witnessing firsthand the popularity of the temporary spot on Pratt Street, Joe Ploof, of Hanging Hills Brewing Company, and Ben Braddock, of Hog River Brewing, knew it was the perfect time to seize on this momentum and establish a more permanent location — at the historic Pump House in Bushnell Park, Ploof said.

Right now, it is only scheduled to be open on Friday nights from 4-8 starting June 28th. But this seems like a fun idea that should have every opportunity to succeed. And if it's a hit, it's easy to add hours. It is also a natural for WinterFest with the addition of hot beverages.

Wow, what a great idea. Jay

Developers are proposing a $100 million redevelopment of buildings and property on Pratt Street and nearby Talcott Plaza. The developers are seasoned veterans in Hartford development including Lexington Partners, LAZ parking and Shelbourne Global Solutions so this is not some fly-by-night proposal. Sounds good to me. Has the potential to be a game changer for downtown. Between this, the Hartford north developments they are planning around the ballpark, and the possible development of the bushnell south area, the city could look very different in a few years. Glad to see developers seeing Hartford’s potential.

An extension to the Connecticut Riverwalk to Windsor and across the the river to East Windsor over the Brissel Bridge (I-291) will begin this summer. The first phase of the $3.2 million dollar project will be competed next summer. There are still issues to be ironed out north the new Weston Street terminus. But this is sound and funded project.

The article has a quote that goes “There will be no city of Hartford funds used to acquire the parcel,” Zaleski said. “It is coming from a local foundation.” What's the local foundation?

Usually in cases like this the organisation is "Friends of X" I'd imagine it's the case here.

My guess is River Recapture. But that is just a wild guess.
