The cooler April weather should reduce the spring allergy season which will be good for allergy sufferers

May will inevitably have the burst of flowering and trees as always that by Memorial Day weekend it will look like summer and no pollen to suffer more than a week.

This will be nice

Not according to friends, family and coworkers. Allergy season is in full bloom here in the Farmington Valley. I feel sorry for allergy sufferers!

When I last checked a couple of days ago, BDR was just 0.6 below normal. Central Park was actually 0.2 ABOVE normal. But I think Tuesday-Thursday will ensure another below normal month, it's probably been a LONG time since we had 6 straight below normal months.....

For BDR

The last time with more than 5 straight months was October 2002 to July 2003 which was 10 months.

Before that was June 2000 to March 2001. (June 2000 & Feb 2001 barely made it into negative)

Unsettled week.. wet, wet, wet... Pattern is blocked (Rex Block). Slow moving Low a culprit

FROST ADVISORY EARLY THIS MORNING FOR INTERIOR SECTIONS. TEMPS HAVE COOLED TO THE LOW TO MID 30S ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA.

BLOCKED PATTERN ACROSS THE CONUS TODAY WITH CLOSED LOW OVER THE ATLANTIC...AND ANOTHER CLOSED LOW OVER THE MID PORTION OF THE COUNTRY. RIDGING BETWEEN THESE TWO LOWS...WITH RIDGE AXIS REMAINING TO THE WEST OF THE LOCAL AREA TODAY.

AT THE SFC...HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE NORTH. NORTHERLY WINDS LIGHTEN AND BECOME LOCALLY ONSHORE. AREA FOR MOST OF THE DAY WILL BE SANDWICHED BETWEEN CLOUDS TO THE EAST AND MORE CLOUDS TO THE WEST.

Monday to Monday QPF total forecast. HPC thinks 4-5" of rain from VA to NYC next 7 days. 3-4" here.

While we're enjoying a beautiful clear Spring day, look off to the Northeast at the weak 1002mb storm.

We are wedged in between the Mid West Low & the Ocean Low. They are slowing the pattern down.

Looking ahead for Connecticut...I like what I see ...but we all have our own preferences I guess.

We got Rain & cool now until Thursday
Warm Thursday
Dry Friday
Chance showers Saturday & Sunday morning. Seasonable temps
Looks dry most of next week with sunny skies and Partly cloudy skies. Cool night lows.
Rain on Thursday-Friday

Overall it's looking how Spring should be like this year. Not cold. Not Hot. Not dry. Not too wet.

I don't even remember what seasonable is anymore, so I had to check. Now I'm all kinds of sad.
