Until that changes, CT will be getting into bigger debt, businesses will keep leaving, and people will keep loosing their jobs.
San Francisco and New York are also run by Democrats.

So's Austin.
And, Boulder, CO.

California as a while is doing pretty well.

This is silly partisanship that has no bearing on reality. I think Malloy is doing a lousy job, but Connecticut has one of the highest per capita incomes in the country. It's hardly a "welfare sanctuary."

Because people want to live there.
Funny how all of those states rank in the bottom 10 in population, then.

Does anyone care that CT is about to have the worst year in terms of growth and over all economy since 2009.

What's that's saying, CT comes into recession late and it hits later? Seems that we hit the "later" mark.

highest per capita incomes do not somehow translate into well run budget, do they? The reason that CT ranks high in income is not because CT economy is doing so well, simply big money from NYC choose to buy homes here, and run their hedge funds, which serve so called "elite".

Look at Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, those are one of the poorest cities in the nation, due to their welfare sanctuary status.

Partisanship may be silly, but since election system in the US is rigged to favor just 2 parties (cause they have all the money), there's only one hope that the "opposite" party will fix the mess the US is in.

I think your over analyzing and claims of near decade long "delays" in the economic impact of a recession is quite a stretch. The reality is Simply that CT is defined by mediocrity through and through. Look at our leadership, our economy, our housing market , our job market...CT has the same entitled, weak and low output attitude that defines the demographic that supports it. I wonder if malloy needed a dog therapy session to cry at after the election too? Make America great again.

It is not all doom and gloom or even close. Yes we lost more jobs but our unemployment rate went down which suggests those job losses were more related to baby boomers retiring than the economy. Also as you posted there have been numerous positive jobs gains with major industries hiring. Those positives will definitely impact us in the coming months. I am not saying things are great but they are not horrible either. Jay

Correct, suggests. Here is another "suggestion"

"“The good news is that unemployment rates have gone down, but the bad news is the state’s and Stamford’s workforces are shrinking because jobs have left the area,” said Jack Condlin, president and CEO of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. “We just need to make sure we focus on helping businesses move into Connecticut and the city of Stamford...."State officials said that they are analyzing the conflicting trends, but that a decrease in the labor workforce could partly explain those labor dynamics. When the workforce size decreases, fewer new jobs are needed to push down the unemployment rate." (Southwestern Connecticut sees falling unemployment, inconsistent job growth in October - Connecticut Post)

There is not denying that the creation of 3200 jobs YOY is not good. The fact that CT lost over 14000 jobs in the past four months signals a problem.

Even if the theory you point out is true, which is; job losses are credited to baby boomer retiring, wouldn't companies be filling those positions back up. It seems like the jobs lost to baby boomers are not being filled back up which in turn is causing lower total of unavailable jobs, driving down the total unemployment #.

Things are not horrible, but on the right track to becoming horrible.
