Malloy better make them an unprecedented offer, the largest in state history. Before Kentucky does.
Jeeze. When will you stop obsessing over companies leaving CT? Enough already - your excitement regarding the demise of CT is getting old.

Not excited; I have Ct relatives whose Ct jobs are going. I want DM to not putz around and lock in AETNA staying in Hartford in a major way. States compete for jobs. No state is exempt, but I do not think the economy is a priority for Malloy or Looney, for that matter.

I'm encouraged by Malloy's stance on the upcoming budget to drastically make necessary cuts. This is a step in the right direction.

Let's send Bob some catastrophic news about his home state:

N.J.'s 18.6% Pension Funding Least in U.S., Moody's Finds - Bloomberg Business

Despite losing GE, this quote screams volumes "New Jersey is $83 billion short of what it needs to make good on retiree payments, and the stress has led to nine credit-rating downgrades under Christie, a record for a New Jersey governor."

Lets not forget that New Jersey also lost a major corporate headquarters last year when Mercedes moved its offices and 1,100 jobs from Bergen County to Atlanta. Those too are high paying and arguably worse than the GE move since GE has only said 200 of the 800 jobs in Fairfield are moving to Boston. The remaining jobs will be "reassigned" to other offices. They have not said what that means but there is hope that some of those jobs will remain in Connecticut. With Mercedes, all the jobs left the state. So much for a Republican Governor being better for business. Jay

GOP plan includes end to bargaining for state retirement benefits | The CT Mirror

Seems like a good start. And the aptly named Looney rails against it, which means it may actually get state spending under control.

Can't say I really have a problem with any of these proposals.

Prisoner health care to the lowest bidder is a recipe for poor health care and lawsuits... Other than that I agree with this as a starting point.
