Anyone who has not tried doughnuts at Lakeside Diner in Stamford needs to. They are the most amazing doughnuts I've ever had. Fantastic pancakes too!

Diners are starting to freak me about. What's up with all that glitzy mirrors and shiny metals stuck all over?!?!?!

Give me plants and decor, yikes. Or is this a cultural thing with the diners?? Why does everyone have Elvis and 60s items tacked on the wall and what's up with the music box at each table??

Fill me in, people. Enlighten me

The diners in Colorado and NC were sort of normal, like a regular restaurant.

Go there and get one of their melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts. Trust me (and I'm not a fan of doughnuts).

I have to give the best donuts within driving distance of my house anyway is not in CT, but in West Springfield, MA, Donut Dip on Rt. 5 is just amazing....I used to work up that way for a little while and once a week would indulge, if I ate it every day i would probably be in a size 42 waist now instead of 35.

I recommend the buttermilk donuts....

Ate at Mezcal in New Haven last night. That's the first authentic Mexican sit down restaurant I've been to in CT (other than bakeries, tortillerias, grocers and taco places that serve more lunch-type food).

I complimented their food and in return was fed a tequila shot through a giant glass rifle. Awesome!

Nice!

I forgot to add Anthony's Jamaican here in Manchester. It's in the Parkade Plaza next to radio shack. Not much sit down room, but the food rivals..nah, is better than anything I've ever gotten in Hartford.

Anthony's Jamaican Restaurant in Manchester, CT - Food with a Caribbean Flair

Anthony is the owner, chef etc. You even get the "rude" service up front many Jamaican places are known for. (If you ever been you know what I mean by that...it's not really rude but a lot of people take it that way. )
