Hello from Starbuck's since I have no internet at home!

AT&T DSL has been working fine for a week. This morning I wake up and no internet access on my laptop. I reboot the router and the connection shows our network is up and running fine, but no internet access for my laptop.

I tried rebooting the router again and this time the router just died. The DSL light is a bright shiny green on the modem so I know I have a connection.

So, I unhooked the lan cable going from the modem to the router and instead connected it directly to my laptop. Still no access.

Can anyone suggest anything? Why would it suddenly deny me access?

Thanks, I'm going to try that today. My cell (AT&T) doesn't work inside the house so I haven't been able to call them. Switching to Verizon today and hoping I get at least a few bars inside the house! When it rains...

Only reason I can guess after rebooting and seeing your network is available on computer is if you have a computer problem connecting to a home or work network. Public are easy. Do network connection check in control panel and see what that says and suggest.

Hi from the hair salon!

Apparently, I am now connected to an Unidentified Network. Local area connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration.

Got my cell changed over to Verizon so at least now I have some bars. I will call AT&T later (hair more important).
