I like the style of homes in Harbison, Coldstream and Murraywood.

I suggest finding a local agent to work with exclusively. They can get you a list of everything for sale in that price range and set you up on an email list that notifies you when a new property goes on the market.

One of the major shopping districts for Columbia is at the intersection of Harbison and I-26. There are several apartment complexes and neighborhoods off of Harbison to the East of 26. I'm not sure what you're definiton of quiet is, but there is alot more traffic through that area than other parts of Irmo because of the Mall and other stores.

well we are familar with that area, but it seems nothing compared to the metro area of orlando. we are looking for neighborhood that is not known for problems ....we have esearched and nothing seems alarming although are leaning towards staying away from immediate harbison area ....probably look mor ealong st. andrews area to irmo

I live in the St. Andrews Area. There are several apartment and housing complexes on my block that are gated. It seems the area may have been a little rougher in the past, but its not too bad now. I haven't heard of any major problems with crime or violence in the last 2-3 years since my wife and I have lived in the area.

I'd go for the Harbison or Irmo area if I were you. Its nicer than St. Andrews.

where along St. Andrews. We looked a house off St. Andrews just past Harbison. I believe they call it Whitehall Ext. Thanks for the input.
