I’m so down. Either way I can go to this whether it is only for the school, or for the public as well.

It's funny, so many Facebook commenters have been complaining about it being located at USC as if the school is gated. It might be more convenient at a neutral location near I-26 or closer to Forest Acres, but who cares? It's an Apple Store in the middle of Columbia! Everyone has been waiting over a decade for this.

But it’s only available to UofSC students.

The amendment is to allow for apartments in addition to those other uses... If they are adding them in.. it is likely that they see the option to add them.. at some point in the future.

Maybe I just don't understand the setup. So it's physically located in Byrnes (a very odd choice) and has HRSM students running it, but it's an official Apple Store. I can understand how that would not feel welcoming to non-students, but wouldn't it be legally questionable to restrict access to only USC students, faculty, and staff? I guess University Dining does that to an extent, but other companies operating on campus (like Starbucks) are technically open to the public. Based on that interpretation, it would seem like a semi-restricted Apple Store rather than a USC-only store.

Also what a clever way to get a store to Columbia without Apple having to really invest much.

Yeah a lot of college campuses have them. I wouldn’t consider it a real Apple Store though.

Apple store in name only. It’s like the Starbucks in Kroger. Kroger hires them, Kroger pays them, Kroger fires them. All it is, is a name.

It’s not even branded as TopGolf anymore. Go onto SwingSuite’s website and look at locations. Columbia is no longer on there. That happened when the Middletons re did the Venue on Main and made it the Main Course...
