No reason the building couldn’t become a cool part of the park - an indoor public meeting space.

Or remodel it and build it up a couple more floors and voilà, there’s your Parkside Hotel.

How about a more modern version of this incorporated into Finlay Park in the post office building?

If it becomes a hotel or residential project.. a nice infinity pool would be cool up there overlooking the park

We've talked about the city's aesthetic in a couple of threads in this forum. Here's a good article concerning that. The city isn't close to being some Rustbelt has-been in that regard, but there is definitely room for improvement.

I saw Jackson, Mississippi, on Kamau Bell’s United Shades of America Sunday night, and not to be mean, but unless the angles they just happened to show of the skyline and downtown are the city’s worst, Columbia’s got it all over Jackson.

Click the word "Here's." I hyperlinked it to the article.

And yes, Columbia looks a good bit better than Jackson, MS. I do like their historic highrise architecture though.

You posted this before I could finish editing my post. I’m on my phone and didn’t notice the “here’s” at first. Thanks.
