Plans call for a seven-lane bowling alley and restaurant in the building, as well as a total of seven new apartments on the second and third floors of the adjoining Robinson and Mark’s buildings.

The building facades will be renovated with heavy decorative wood trim above large picture windows, and large decorative cornices to match historic images will be restored.

Bowling alley, apartments in plan for former Army Navy store on Main Street > Columbia Business Report
So the development on the bowling alley hasn't started yet because other tenants are still in? Is that a fair statement?

Just wondering when they anticipate breaking ground on the new bowling alley.

I'm not sure when the project is scheduled to start.

The bowling alley is being built in the back of the Robinson building (former Army/Navy Store). Construction on the bowling alley began several weeks ago and is well underway along with the restaurant being built on the front side of the Robinson building facing Main.

I believe the plan for the ground floor of the Marks building is for it to become part of the restaurant being built in the Robinson building, but those plans could have changed.

Side note, while at Soda City Market on Saturday, I noticed a posting on the door of "Marks" saying they were having a sale because they lost their lease and would be closing.

While its sad to see small businesses forced to close, its certainly exciting that momentum on that block has reached this point.

Im surprised people still shop in there...given online shopping and the proliferation of discount stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross, and Burlington....

This is unique. I picked up 5 people from Ohio yesterday at the hotel on huger Street who called a Lyft Plus. They were the guys who go around the nation and open up brand new Quaker steak & lube. So it's cool that i talked to the guys who open up these chain stores around the nation.

This is why i love being an Uber Lyft driver
