Covid Live Updates: Facing Surge of Cases, Colorado Hospitals Can Turn Patients Away

Many medical facilities in the state are at 90 percent capacity, with intensive care units overflowing. Most of the people needing admission are unvaccinated.

"Covid hospitalizations in Colorado have increased 14 percent in the last two weeks. The state’s new daily cases have also increased 14 percent in two weeks, and recently reached their highest level since their peak in November 2020, according to a New York Times database.

Hospitals in Larimer County, where vaccine hesitancy is fueling a surge, are using 110 percent of their I.C.U. beds"

My daughter is a nurse in Colorado. She's very tired of this.

Damn Vaxholes!

I don’t really care enough about COVID to look into this, but at this point, if we were still using the “dial” at the state level, wouldn’t some of our counties be in the “extreme danger, lock it all down” category?

Some countries still respond that way, but in the U.S., once vaccines became available they seem to have changed policy away from that.

250,000 + Americans dead from COVID related illness since vaccines first became available. 21 pronounced dead from COVID in El Paso county over the past weekend! I'm thinking that the laissez-faire approach isn't working out so well. On the other hand, most of the dead and dying are not vaccinated....by choice. So I guess it's all working out as planned.

At this moment it ought to be obvious that you have just two choices; either get vaccinated or contract the virus. If you're not vaccinated, the virus will find you.

I'm just amazed that so many people still choose to not get vaccinated.

My sister, 77, underlying conditions, didn't get vaxxed. She got covid, died 3 weeks ago.

I got my 3rd dose of Pfizer last week, along with the flu vax which I get every year.

If you're vaccinated, the virus will still find you.

Yes, but will it find a person after they get the Covid 19 Booster shot? The Booster extends the "less-effective now" original 2/Moderna-2/Pfizer-1 J&J.

Hear of those getting Covid 19, but did any of them get the Booster before contracting the Covid 19? Nothing being said about that!

It may. But you will most likely not require hospitalization or suffer from long-haul side effects.
