The term brick n mortar typically refers to the traditional programs conducted in a classroom setting. As more and more of these institutions offer online degrees, then we will need to rethink how this term is applied.

A little background. I am three years into my accounting degree at NAU (which is like U. of Phoenix). It has been a VERY expensive degree to get, but I thought was justifiable because I would be able to get a good job afterwards. I already work for a large company, and I was hoping to use the degree to move into the financial area of the company (I have worked in another department for ten years).

Have I really wasted my time? Am I not going to be hirable in this field?

I am really freaked out, and upset right now that all the work/money/time may have been wasted.

Any advice is MUCH APPRECIATED!
Is this college regionally accredited? This would change things greatly as to whether or not you can use your degree.

Look at my user name and try to guess what University I might be affiliated with...

And....right back at you...

What qualifications do you possess to continually tout for-profits on every thread that even tangentially mentions them?

And where is the evidence that for-profits provide a "quality" education? As I have asked others of your ilk....where is the proof?

No admission standards, meaningless or no accreditation, no track record of placing students into graduate programs, horrendous graduation rates, ridiculously over priced courses.....it goes on and on.....

With real schools having online programs people need to not related to for-profits as online.
