I've thought about it time and again about going to graduate school, but if I do go to graduate school, I rather go only if it'll benefit me, not because it's what a lot of people do. I know I said I'm majoring in accounting here and to various people irl, but in reality im juggling between finance(my initial major choice) and accounting.

Also, skip the government - they generally will undercut your pay. Go to private industry where you can make real money down the road.
But the gov't jobs are more secure aren't they? Well the fed'l ones are. don't know about state.

but im gonna finish school hopefully in two more years. but is it bad to be in school that long(i'd be in school for about 5-6 years by then) even though i took one semester off?

My son and I visited RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) this past weekend and in a talk about jobs for upcoming graduates the dean specifically mentioned that Accountants were acutely needed. Of the recent college grads I know that got jobs, the guy that majored in Accounting got his job first. He had a job offer before Spring break. A friend of my daughters, also an Accounting major, got a job offer mid-way through grad school.
