There's more to a football team than just offense. FSU's defense is among the best.
But you're playing against elite teams that have good offense and defense. Not against Lousville that has neither.
FSU gave up on passing completely against Louisvile and started running straight wildcat plays. No way you are defeating any quality opponent doing that.

But, the QB who played against Louisville wouldn't be the one playing in the CFP.. Well, unless something horrible happened to him there.
But, you can't use that as an excuse, because, if you do.. Then you have to say that if Milroe gets injured.. One of those two complete scrubs that they started in his place would have to come in, and you've got the same argument AGAINST Alabama.
I think one of those guys has hit the portal already anyway.. From what I understood, he was a big Lacrosse player and stopped that to play football.. Now he's going back to lacrosse.
Now.. is the QB who would be starting as good as the original? No.. But, he didn't look horrible, either.
The argument here. Let's say the SEC championship played out exactly the same. BUT.. Beck went down in the 2nd quarter with a concussion and couldn't come back.
Their backup goes in and they lose 27-24. Plays out exactly like it did with Beck.
Based on the logic here.. That would mean that Georgia would get in over Alabama.
Quite frankly.. I think Georgia is more deserving than Alabama is straight up. Yes, there's a H2H loss, but.. It was a close loss AND they have the pedigree of being 2 time defending National Champs.

Here's a fact.
Alabama is in the 2023 College Football Playoff. Florida State is not.
"No way undefeated FSU is left out"
"Win and your in"
Above said by a couple of prominent ESPN guys championship week.
Sunday morning before the reveal their tunes changed. Why? Because ESPN told them to because there was not a chance in hell SEC would be left out. And you couldn't let Bama in without letting Texas in. So FSU, actually Travis Jordan, was the scapegoat.
College football is a total s#*! show right now. I am going back to NFL until they figure things out. Conference re-alignment, transfer portal, NIL.... a complete circus. FSU being left out, so blatantly, in favor of ratings & money, has totally defiled the sport. It was the last nail in the coffin.... for me.
ESPN owns and runs the CFP; also, they basically are the current owners of the SEC -with their exclusive TV contract/rights. Hmmmm, do you think maybe a slight conflict of interest there Can't believe so many of their talking heads are ok with it and go along with it, and try to convince the public that it is "ok" because... and they seem to freely admit this on air (I'll give them that)..... "it's about TV and entertainment". In general, yes, sports is about entertainment. But, selecting playoff teams should not be based on their ability to entertain, it should be based on results ON THE FIELD..... it's why they play the games. They have taken all the sport out of "sports entertainment".
If they want to pick playoff teams based on brand value, ratings potential, and Vegas odds, as they have officially and unbashedly done here, then WHY PLAY THE GAMES?
Leaving FSU out in favor of AL = total money grab... pure and simple. They have ruined the sanctity of the sport. They have dishonored every past, present, and future competitor and athlete. A total farce, an abomination.
Note, under current conditions the 12 team playoff ain't gonna change much.... different setting, same story.

I'll start with the bolded part and I am in full agreement. Same players. Just a different game. Results on the field? Yeah, sure. However, you have to have style points and a sexy name like "Alabama." FSU used to have that cache but no more. God bless his soul but coach Bowden had it. So the purity of the game is gone. It's about that almighty dollar. No point being pollyanna about it. This is college football. Deal with it. Great arguments, though.
