Sounds about right even though Daniels has been out for a while. Statistically, Daniels had an outstanding year. Nix had a superior season but he lost to Penix twice. Don't see how you overcome that. Can't go wrong with any of them, IMHO.
Yeah, you're right. The losses to Penix will stand out against Nix. Though I find it hard to believe Daniels would not earn a strong case. As you said, his stats were off-the-charts. He was the first QB in FBS history to throw for over 350 yards and run for over 200 yards in a game. Wow.
The 2023 Heisman Trophy finalists have been announced. LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr., Oregon’s Bo Nix and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. were named the four finalists for the award on Monday. The Heisman winner will be announced on Saturday.
I actually couldn't argue against any of them, even Marvin Harrison Jr. I don't think OSU would have had the year they did without him. Do I think he is the best of the 4? No, but I would be ok with it.
(full disclosure...maybe I just feel that way because I met his dad when he was at Syracuse).
Interesting video about the college qbs up for the draft. Don't know if this was made by a real draftnik or just some youtube video wonk but it was close to my opinion on many of these qbs coming out. I think Shedeur needs more seasoning like the pundit mentioned and he's right about his accuracy and not being overly athletic. I wouldn't put Drake Maye number 1. Maybe push him down to #4 or #5. He reminds me of my frustrating Giants qb, Daniel Jones. Both are ACC qb although Jones is a tad more athletic.
