The Vols are now the unlikely SEC Eastern Division champions. Like many Vol fans, I believed that they would be in the BCS picture at season's end. But their defense gave up more points to California, Florida and Alabama combined than I thought it would give up all season. With a strong defense the Vols could easily be 12-0 instead of 9-3. Now here's the really bad news. They may get embarrassed by LSU next week. I hope not, but LSU is better than anyone they've played this season. In spite of twice being upset, I still think LSU is the best team in the country. I know that other teams have more impressive records, but those teams don't play SEC schedules.

LSU lost to Arkansas and Kentucky. Tennesee beat both of them. That makes me think they definitely stand a chance. All it takes is Tennessee playing their best game possible, and LSU playing like they did against Kentucky or LSU.

Certainly feel like LSU is the better team overall, but I also think Tennessee has a very decent shot at winning.

LSU has won, 21-14. The Vol defense did not get embarrassed as I had feared, even though they did face a crippled LSU offense. But on a happier note, I think the Lady Vols will win another basketball title this season. The men's team is also looking good after advancing to the Elite 8 last season.
