Jacksonville/Camp LeJeune (Surf City, North Topsail Beach, Topsail Beach: spring break, for rent, houses)

My son will be stationed at Camp LeJeuene. We are planning on visiting him in March during spring break. Are there beach houses to rent? What else is there to do in the area? Fishing, boating? History? What typically will the weather be like the 2nd/3rd week of March? Thank you :-)

North Topsail Beach would probably be closest to Camp Lejeune, or you could try Surf City. Check VRBO.com for rent by owner, or Century 21 if you prefer to go through a management firm. March should be pleasant weather. Some of my nieces and nephews have been in swimming in March, but I wouldn't, not without a wetsuit.
