Because for years and years everyone just wanted a new press box instead of the doublewide on stilts that we had and now that it’s being built, calling it the new “press box†is force of habit.
Im honestly not sure why everyone calls this a press box. Its a Club level. The old structure was a press box.
It's easier to differentiate which side you are talking about. The North Stands have the already established Club Level. The South side has the Press Box & new club level.
The Pitt County Alcoholic Beverage Control Board plans to build a 6,000-square-foot store at 260 Easy St. near Memorial Drive in north Greenville, Theresa Campbell said. The store on 10th Street near Greenville Boulevard will be relocated to the Food Lion shopping center at 10th and Portertown Road.
The North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission approved Pitt County's plans during its regular monthly meeting on June 12. The current Bethel ABC store, 7449 N. Main St., will be closed due to profitability issues and declining sales.
...
A timetable for when the Bethel store will close and when construction of the Easy Street store begins has not been determined, Campbell said...the timetable for moving of the 10th Street store also has not been established.
Separately, if you haven't seen the Greenville Community Garden over on Stancill, I highly recommend going and checking it out.
Full disclosure that I'm on the executive board for LAST (the non-profit named in the article)--the kids that are mentored under LAST are truly some of the most incredible people and LAST youth are really making something of this garden. They are working on rehabbing the old orchard on Willow St. and Jarvis as an expansion opportunity for the community garden (and by they I do mean the youth; LAST "staff" edit and revise grant applications and work with the youth to refine their ideas, but the kids themselves formulate ideas, develop strategic plans, and write the grant applications).
Is anyone else confused why the city teamed up with this specific business when there was already a kayak rental business operating out of the uptown area? It really seems like Knee Deep Adventures got muscled out because of the city. Not very small business friendly.

Is the agreement exclusive? I'm sure Uptown is promoting RRR because they're renting a shop on Dickinson (and also employing a further six people, which is going to make for some fancy overhead they've got to kill off each month--looking forward to seeing how long it lasts). But is Knee Deep not allowed to operate? I recall the kerfuffle over the 'no-service-during-RFQ' but I thought the sole provider thing was killed off.
Agreed it's terrible for business if they've elected to go single-provider for what should be a common, free-market service.
