I have a wedding in Duck at 5 p.m. on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, and can't leave from Houston until Saturday morning. Flights to Norfolk or Greenville get me in at around 10:45 a.m. at the earliest. I hear that traffic on that Saturday is miserable, however, and the groom has warned me that I might not make it in time even with a 10:45 arrival.

I'm wondering if Greenville would be a safer bet, in that traffic would be lighter? I don't mind driving the extra 70 or so miles if it would guarantee an on-time arrival.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It will be a crap shoot. You're right around three hours from Duck from Greenville. But there are long stretches of road that are two lanes. Get caught behind something and you're screwed. Plus Labor Day weekend on top of a normal Saturday going to the beach traffic.

But, saying all of that, if you're leaving Greenville at 11am, there shouldn't be any reason you can't make it in plenty of time.
