I may have a job opprotunity in Nags Head and was wondering where people live(apartment wise). I saw that there are places in Elizabeth City.. but that is about 1 hr away. Any help would be great.
Google "OBX long term rentals" and that should give you several websites offering year around housing.
There's quite a few rentals available at the moment, but I wouldn't wait too long.As spring approaches, many of these rentals will be gone. The inventory usually starts declining in Feb and prices will rise due to supply and demand.
Most people on the beach rent a house with a couple roommates, as there's more of those compared to apartments. A few people from Elizabeth City and nearby commute down to the beach for work but that's only because there's no jobs in EC. I wouldn't suggest it; your commute will reach two hours one way in the summer. Look around in Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk too, as all those towns are connected in a straight line.
Also check out Manteo, which is a woodsy island just a bridge over from the beaches. Do a general search online for many apartments for rent sites, plug in the town, and you should find condos and townhomes for rent, in Manteo they run about $900. Here's the link for those: Manteo NC Apartments For Rent - Search Details for Manteo Apartment Rentals Also, on the sound side of the beaches, there are a couple villages that are residential, get a good map to find those town names, too.
Hi my husband and I just get married and we are looking for a trailer or apartment in manteo, nags head , kill devil hills or kitty hawk please can you help me!! Thank you
I agree with OBXfisher and gigimac. I was sort of in your predicament when I was looking at a particular job in the area years back... I love it there, i just don't think i could live there.
