I didn't say that some of the regulations weren't outdated. I said that there is a need for regulating development. Ever city in the country has building codes that regulate things like fence height, backland, frontage, etc. Truth be told, anything of consequence that was ever wanted for as a building project in this city that hasn't happened has had little if anything to do with the frequently blamed building code. As you just mentioned, the Euclid Corridor was somehow built. Also, the $6-7 billion in new development has found its way through. I'd hardly deem a code that allowed that much development in a relatively short time as overly restrictive. In the past, the restriction had more to do with the lack of the $6-7 billion than it did with any code, building or otherwise.
