Looking for our first home!
My husband has just been offered a job in Chagrin Falls and I currently work in Parma. We are in our mid-twenties and would like to find a place where we could start a family. Independence is a great town, but the houses that are available (from what we can tell) are pretty dated and/or don't have the open concept that we like. Sagamore Hills has been suggested but we don't know much about it. Any experience with this area? We would like a decent sized yard (nothing crazy, maybe half an acre), and while a walkable downtown area would be lovely, it isn't a must.
Any help would be appreciated! We are native west-siders, so this is a foreign land to us

Western part of Orange close(ish) to the highway, IMO.

Good schools, relaively diverse, but still a bit rural in feel so you can get a decent yard. Walkable downtown areas are hard to find within walking distance of affordable nice houses. Drive to Chagrin Falls when you want to walk around.

Sagamore Hills is also a good suggestion. Rural, plenty of homes on large lots.
What about North Royalton?
Richfield? Broadview Heights?

Thanks for the help! My husband and I are looking for good schools but we are hoping for something that isn't too ritzy or competitive... Does this make a difference in your responses?

Thanks for the responses! Peregrine, do you live in Broadview Hts or know anyone who lives there? There are some houses there that interest us.
Thanks

No I live in CLE proper.
I know someone who used to live there. It's a very nice suburb.

Thanks for the quick response! It looks like a nice place. Just wondering if the schools are too competitive... I know Brecksville is a pretty ritzy town and they share a school district with Broadview Hts...

FYI, part of Broadview Heights, the southern portion I believe, is actually in the North Royalton City School District.
