I'm moving to Cleveland next week, and I was wondering what is the best cable/internet provider in the area? We have comcast where I live now.

Thanks!

Local cable is either Time Warner or Cox depending on where you live. Avoid those at all costs. AT&T is pretty popular for Internet, and UVerse is a popular TV service. I go with Dish Network, others have luck with DirecTV. Any of those are sufficient.

I would start with Time Warner. Free HD and no 2 year contract so if you don't like it then you can go satellite. I had Dish but wanted ON-DEMAND which neither sat network can offer.

I'll be living in Lakewood, and can't commit to a year contract. Does that change things?

I think Cox serves Lakewood. Check to see if ATT's UVerse does. That's the best in the area for price vs. features.
Again no 2 year contract.
The satellite companies both demand 2 year contracts because once you figure out it sucks you are past 30 days and you're stuck with it.
Don't know why Yaface thinks Cable sucks.
It's better then satellite. I had Dish for 3 years and went to Time Warner and haven't looked back.

You will miss Comcast, believe it or not. Time Warner is certainly no Comcast and for some reason they get away with horrible customer service and over charging like you would not believe! You'll find a lot of that in this area. Wait until you see First Energy (electric company) Holy %@#$@!!!!! You will absolutely have a heart attack!
