There is nothing quite like going up in an airplane and flying above our nation's cities. I have flown quite a bit and I never get tired of looking out of the passenger window to look at the cities from high above. From my personal experience, I would have to say L.A. and Chicago are just massive and seem to go on forever, especially at night.

In your opinion, what cities do you think are sights to behold, say at a high altitude, while flying over them? Please post pics if available.

New York City. My heart starts beating a little faster when we approach that skyline.

There's nothing like flying over New York. I once took a small plane from Philly right up the coast, over the harbor, up the East River and into LaGuardia. It was a prop plane so it flew quite low.

I took that flight the Thanksgiving right after 9-11. Ground Zero was still smoldering. Everyone on the plane sat in stunned silence.

Well, i remember taking a flight from New York to Baltimore at night, and it was incredible. I saw NY, Philly, and Baltimore directly out of my window and the lights connecting to each city never stopped

Also, San Francisco can be memorizing

New York City, Los Angeles, Atlantic City & Cape May, Philadelphia, Orlando, The East Coast (NYC-JAX).

I took a flight from New York City to Orlando and we flew over the beach 85% of the flight and it was gorgeous all the way from South Queens to Savannah/Jacksonville then we flew inland to land in Orlando. While we were preparing to land we had to circle around a huge wildfire and a huge lake. Its also beautiful at night when you see the Disney fire works.

Orlando International is the most beautiful airport I've ever seen, I like that train/monorail thing too. I always love landing there .

I agree with the Bay Area, especially on a sunny day with the mixture of boats, bridges, cars and skylines. Same with San Diego.
