I've always been more interested in what a city looks like from the street-level, than the way it looks from a typical 'skyline' view. In your opinion, which two cities are the most impressive at the street-level. By "impressive", I mean which city's street-level is the most aesthetically pleasing, functional, convenient, etc.
If a similar thread already exists--which I'm sure it does--please ignore this one, delete it, or do whatever you do; just don't bother telling me I'm lazy for not checking first, because I already know I am.
EDIT: I COMPLETELY FORGOT SAN FRAN--WHICH OBVIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE UP THERE...IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN ADD IT TO THE POLL? IF NOT, JUST PRETEND THE 'OTHER' OPTION IS ACTUALLY SAN FRAN.
I'd say New York City is the obvious choice...then after that you could choose Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, DC, and San Francisco is whatever order you wanted.
It's pretty absurd that you havent included San Francisco on this list. I think many would agree it's at least in the top three in terms of most impressive at street-level. Super dense, vibrant, pedestrian friendly, beautiful, colorful, etc. Definitely blows away any city in the US save NYC, Chicago, Boston, DC, and Philly.
Other cities that belong on the list, IMO, are Minneapolis, Seattle, and Portland (and there are probably more).
