As a bonus, it has you, dementor and finalcut, all in one sweet package. Plus you can see uber-cool suburbanites shopping for cool designer socks and Jonas Brother lunch boxes. White Plains, that's where it's at.

You do not have to believe me. You are from Midwest so your concept of good food or beer is totally skewed. The magazine you quoted did not disclose the methodology used to prepare this ranking so it is hard to say why Chicago ranked higher than many cities known for good food.
Maybe because magazines have to name different cities than other magazines, be different than competition? If you look harder there is probably some newspaper out of Wisconsin that claimed Milwaukee is the place to be for good food and ranks higher than Paris or New York.
Chicago food is scary, this is my personal opinion and if there is anybody who does not believe me... try it yourself at your own risk: greasy, heavy and tasteless.
The magazine article was published in New York. And they agree with me that Chicago is great restaurant city. Where are you from?

White Plains isn't suburban, its a small city with a skyline and everything about 20-30 minutes North of New York City. The shopping there is very impressive especially for a city its size, but I don't know how it would be better than Chicago though, I've never been to Chicago so I can't judge. Don't get me wrong White Plains can contend with cities bigger than it but I don't know about Chicago.
