Atlanta - I really can't think of any good reason Atlanta would make the list unless people equate "ghetto" with large concentrations of black people. ...

I truly think that is what many people are doing on this thread.

Nothing but code-speak, fear, and plain ol' dislike.

That's really what it is, because there's no other way someone can actually visit Atlanta and put it top 10. The city of Atlanta is one of the most beautiful, newest, cleanest major cities I have ever experienced...and I've visited virtually ever major city in the country.

It's funny how detractors can both claim that the city is both too "new" and "cultureless" and is simultaneously too run-down and ghetto. People just say anything sometimes.

Richmond, CA.

A lot of people outside of California are not aware of Richmond. It has always been one of the most dangerous cities in California and it's been making the Top ten most dangerous cities in the Country for a while now. It's not a large metro either it only has about 90-100,00 residents. I believe Oakland only had about 3 more killings and Oakland has over 400,000 residents so that just shows you the amount of crime going on in Richmond.

What is the source for this information? Homestead is an odd entry to me. There are also places more "ghetto" than Little Rock and Lansing as well.
