Atlanta is at 42 as of 3/26, compared to only 27 the same time last year. It's also having a "2022" kind of year.

We'll be dealing with the socio-economic fallout from the pandemic for a very long time. Rising homicides, gun violence, and crime is just one manifestation of this.

Well, Norfolk is really going through it. Another mass shooting in the middle of downtown leaves a man dead and two other women injured. Happened in MacArthur Center, inside the mall. It was over some money, more than likely chump change.

That puts them at 16.

Norfolk now has a rate of over 10 on its West Side with the mall killing...

Richmond up to 14/6.17...

The Beach is at 7 thru 92 days of '22, compared to 13 all last year. On pace for ~27-28 by year end if the rate holds...

Other cities that are of personal interest to me:

Fayetteville NC 10/4.78
Raleigh 10/2.14
Sacramento 11/2.1
Charlotte 17/1.94

Note that 2021 was the worst homicides year the city had seen since 1994 and so far it's 50% higher than last year
