Damn.

I guess I shouldn't shocked since we already surpassed our 2019 total a couple of weeks back, but not even our local media is freaking out that much. The local news reports on a shooting, cuts to some story that happened in St. Louis County, then something about the McCloskeys. That's about it.

I wonder what gangs are sparking that count.

IMO what happens when inner-city murder has been a raging problem for so long, unfortunately those from the metro area not at all affected by the violence stop caring as it’s just background noise. I see the same in the Detroit area. The media there will air a little blurb on the majority of murders, but not all of them. I follow a Detroit police scanner facebook page and it’s amazing how many shootings a day never even get mentioned. Hell a few months back there was a double homicide that not a single news agency ever covered. Crazy........

Pretty sure miami doesn't have anywhere near that high of a homicide rate. It actually went nearly 2 months without a homicide earlier this year.

Likely using county/ Miami-Dade number and dividing it by the city. Happens all the time I think, because South Florida has a unique way of reporting homicide data.
