A little. Not unheard of though. Shootings are up 39% from last year but last year was the lowest homicide tally since 2001. We had 39 homicides all of last year. And quite frankly were looking at 2 people on life support from point-blank headshots earlier this summer/week, 42 is more likely. Fox 25 is saying one fo the families is flying in to say their “final goodbyes”

2010 Boston had 73 homicides. In 2005 and 2006 it had 75 each after a low of 31 in 1999, so its a very cyclical thing...

2017 and 2018 each saw ~57. Were looking at ~68 homicides for the year. Still a rate well below 2010, just a hair below 10/100k.

Assuming things continue to go at this new COVID Pace we might get at most 80 homicides, which would be a lot for Boston.

1970-1995 Boston usually got 80-100 homicides per year-with 100k fewer people.

Tuesday shooting in the Gold Coast neighborhood on the near north side leaves Chicago rapper dead and two others seriously hurt.

The rapper was known as FBG Duck, 27 years old. He was hit in the chest, groin, and neck.

Dammit man.

There is a video on youtube showing that he was still moving about on the ground. The shooting happened in broad day light. This is very sad, especially since he was one of those rappers that could have easily moved far away like other Chicago rappers who made it big.
