IMO beaches get better the further south you get starting at Virginia Beach.

The Boston Harbor Islands are 100% one of the most underrated places in the country.

Yeah, they definitely reached when they included Baltimore as a best beach contender. Lol

I'm surprised at all the people not from NYC mentioning The Rockaways. I always thought that was kind of a secret/wasn't very well-known.

This thread is making me more impatient for Summer

Orlando is 45 minutes from the beach. Its takes the same amount of time to get to the beach from Miami's western suburbs with their ridiculous traffic.

I have a good friend that grew up there-119th-I love the close-knit vibe, reminds me of certain Philly hoods.
Those people can drink LOL. St. Paddys Day Parade is always a blast-and the New Years Plunge I'll build up the courage to jump in one year LOL.

"Hipsters" have invaded recently, but I agree it is still one of NYC's best secrets.

Not only that, but some people even mentioned Staten Island beaches, which are not very well known even among New Yorkers.

Fun fact: in terms of size, NYC has the longest miles of beaches out of any city in the US. More beaches than Miami Beach, Long Beach, Honolulu, SF, etc. It makes perfect sense once you realize that NYC is a city on islands, and most of the city is not on the continent, so it has a huge coastline.
