College Graduates 25% (LA) vs. 28.7% (NY)
You're looking at the wrong side of the chart. Look at the right side where it says "Commuters" and not "Total Adults." That figure for L.A. is 12 percent, not 25 percent. Los Angeles County obviously does not have 7.5 million bus riders.

Keep in mind that the overall population of LA households won't have that proportion of 75k+ incomes. It's basically saying that LA bus riders are richer than the average Angelino, which doesn't pass the smell test.

I don't know...among my age group, its just another thing now. And I grew up here.

Again, my generation was the first generation to actually grow up with PT in LA in the modern era (those under 25), and its not like I grew up in a PT dense part of LA.

Hell, some days whenever I had days off from school, my friends and I used to go take the red and blue lines to Long Beach and spend the day at the beach or at the aquarium.

I don't know ANYONE who's ever updated their FB or tweeted they took the train and I'd say around 50-60% of my FB friends are from LA.

In the DC Metro area, an astounding 25 percent of bus riders earn $100,000 or more and 34 percent of them have a college degree.

Btw, Google shows that the commute from Northridge to DTLA is 1 hour, 10 minutes by car (shortest route) in current traffic and 1 hour, 46 minutes by transit (shortest route). That's not even factoring in that you have to get to the bus stop and wait on it. I'd rather drive than sit on a train and bus for damn near two hours.

No that's not what I said exactly. I made an analogy about Disney World to Twitter not transit in LA. I did mean to say that people in LA do talk about things that people in other cities wouldn't talk about. Not saying you or anyone you know partake in that but LA is a talkers town. People there find a reason to talk about everything.

Let me know about my daily commute since you're an expert on it I leave my house 7:15 and get off at 7th and Metro at 8:20..and that's if I decide to take the bus from my house.

If I drive to the Orange Line, I'd shave around 10 minutes off.

I would make a video about it and time elapse it, but you'd get all butthurt about it too, so whats the point. You're the expert here.

In short, no matter what I say would ever change your mind because you're pretty set in your way of thinking about a place that has little or no bearing on you.

And in my whole lifetime being here, I rarely hear people talk about the metro. I posted something on CD because CD is a City Enthusiast site. My personal facebook is NOT populated with urban enthusiasts.

You think that people are obsessed in real life about PT, city amenities, and the like in real life as they are on CD?

I hear more about people talking about the Dodgers, Lakers, and even my boss' kid more than I hear about PT, which comes around 9231st in things to talk about in any city.

Not really during rush hour. Compare google car times (with traffic) for public transit commute times. And many times, even if transit is slower, it's not by much.
