I don't see how. You don't have the same dialect, the same accent, nor the same slang as DC. I don't hear "brova" in NO. I don't hear "son" in NO. I don't hear the emphasis of the letter "R" in NO. You're just saying this because you're trying to find a connection with another dense urban city elsewhere in this country. This is a failed attempt IMO. The accents amongst Blacks in DC and NO are massively different.
The similarities are there...obviously they are not EXACTLY similar. But, honestly I don't really care if NOLA has similar accents to a northeastern city, it doesn't really matter. I was just stating a personal opinion which I believe is true. New Orleans is urban and dense...end of story. What do accents have to do with that??
I don't know what NOLA you were in or what DC you have been in. But the Black culture of NOLA is NOTHING like the Black culture of DC.
The closest any city has culturally to NOLA in terms of Black Culture outside of Louisiana is probably Houston and the small cities of East Texas, due to the Creole Connection and geography.

No offense, but I'm not seeing the similarities here.
Yes, I have explored Wikipedia. This does not change my earlier expressed views on this matter:
Of course everybody is entitled to thier own opinion and I am sure most would agree that the architecture is different from the typical Northeast architecture, I was just showing that New Orleans did come of age during colonial times and was a large and important city and then it continued to thrive and grow (like most cities) into the ante-bellum years.

You tell me what accents have to do with it. You brought it up.
