Baltimore has no business being on a list of popular cities. Not now, not ever.

Oakland? lol.

Garbage.
That's just your opinion, and apparently a lot more people think favorably about Baltimore.

Wow, Atlanta is #4, although I'm sure most people here wouldn't agree with that one, lol.

I grew up near there. It's a dump. If you disagree, you're wrong.

Too bad for you that you lived near a dump. There's a lot to love and hate about Baltimore. Many of us find the charm in it and choose to work to improve its imperfections. It doesn't matter that you find that opinion wrong.

For the people who don't want to open up links:
1. Seattle
2. Portland
3. Boston
4. Atlanta
5. Phoenix
6. Dallas
7. New York
8. New Orleans
9. Houston
10. Salt Lake City
11. Philadelphia
12. San Francisco
13. Baltimore
14. Las Vegas
15. Chicago
16. Cleveland
17. Washington D.C
18. Miami
19. Oakland
20. Los Angeles
21. Detroit

Although I do not completely agree with this list what is your opinion on it? Personally I think this list is going by reputation.
This is from the link:

Detroit's never really been one for popularity contests -- and now it seems we've completely lost the game.

A new poll from Public Policy Polling names Detroit America's least popular city, out of 21 major metropolises. Only 22 percent of respondents saw the Motor City favorably, and 49 percent had a negative view...............

More people like our midwest sister cities Chicago (42 favorable to 33 unfavorable) and Cleveland (32 to 25). Joining Detroit at the bottom: Oakland, Calif., (we can see that -- the East Bay has a similar reputation to Detroit, after all) and Los Angeles (this seems like more of an anti-Beautiful People vote).

Seattle was ranked most popular, with 57 percent finding the land of Starbucks and Microsoft a favorable place. Some people like Seattle so much they're just marrying it -- well, one woman got hitched to a Seattle warehouse. (See video below.)

Fellow Pacific Northwest urban center Portland came in a close second (52 percent favorable), we're sure solely thanks to "Portlandia." But we're not bitter.

Boston (52-17) and Atlanta (51-19) were the only other cities at least half of respondents felt good about. Maybe these survey-takers just hate urban America?

So it looks like this list is almost a battle to see who is least unpopular! Notice it says that only the first four cities; Seattle, Portland, Boston and Atlanta have a above 50% favorable on the poll. Every other city from #5 onward (Phoenix) is less than 50% popular!

Actually, it sort of sounds like some of us here on City-Data where some of us need to degrade every other city but our own.

Btw gratz to Seattle, Portland, Boston, and Atlanta. At least you guys are well liked!

While I disagree with this list it seem to be legitimate as it has a link to a web page that verifies these rankings and everything. Guess this debate can be put to rest and we can now discuss which city is most stinky. Probably Seattle on that one too I think.

Who chose this list of cities? It's bizzare to have both SF and Oakland but no Denver. SLC is on the list but neither St. Louis nor Minneapolis? I can't figure out what criteria might have been used to select these cities. It's certainly not by city or metro size. It's certainly not by evenly distributed geography.
