I think you should've said the west-coast is the only place in the US which offers a Mediterranean climate. People fly to Italy, Greece, and the rest of Southern Europe to find what Californians can find in there backyard. It's amazing how people speak of Southern Europe so highly, when people don't realize that America has what they have right in our own backyard. A 3hr flight to the West-coast can show you what you always see in those European traveling brochures. Now, Culturally, I think a trip to Southern Europe would be more appropriate given there longer existence than the US.
I see what you're saying, and I respectfully disagree. California is nice, but it's no Italy when it comes to scenery. Just my personal opinion.

Actually, my grandmother was delighted the first time she came out to California to live (from New Jersey). She lived in Italy when she was younger and she said (when she saw the scenery from Los Angeles), "It looks just like Italy."

I love the way you said "actually" as if I was lying. As I said, in "my personal opinion" California is not as nice as Italy.
Similar? Sure. As beautiful? Not in my opinion. That's all I was saying.
Yeah, all California has is Yosemite National Park, Kings Canyon N.P., Sequoia N.P., Redwood N.P. Angeles National Forest, Redwood N.P., the (San Francisco) Bay area, Los Padres National Forest, Big Sur, Morro Bay, Mt. Whitney (14,494 feet), etc.
But, yes, you do have your opinion (even though many would disagree with it).

You're acting like I was saying California is butt ugly. I said it wasn't as beautiful as Italy, in my opinion. You homers are something else...
