wow that doesnt count because that was self defense smh. i actually thought someone got shot for dispute, drug , or gang reasons but the fatal person is dead because he tried to break into a home wow.

Yeah I agree that's justifiable, but still a homicide nonetheless. I think they include justifiable homi's in their count.

I wouldn't exactly put it that way and say it doesn't count, but your right a much different circumstance than the others. I believe they said at least 8 were drug related. I believe it is legal to shoot to kill in self defense, if your home is being invaded in Maryland though.

That is a very troubling stat, I do think this is just a wave though, sometimes PG just goes through these crime waves, then hopefully things will level off and die down for a period of time.

Correct, 'homicide' just means that a person was killed, 'murder' refers to illegally killing someone.
Edit- Based on what it says in the article, the person still could be charged. Maryland doesn't have the "castle doctrine" that some states have, but the courts have ruled that you have the right to use deadly force against someone who has broken into your house. Both news articles about the shooting said that the person was shot while trying to break into the house, and as far as I know, you can only legally use deadly force in MD once someone has actually gotten into the house.
