My family might be moving to Cincinnati and I am concerned about finding a great area. We have 4 small kids that I homeschool and I don't venture far from home. I want a small town feel with the local Super Target/Wal-Mart, banks, a few restaurants, and parks. DO NOT want a culturally diverse area, been there done that. Looking for feedback of all types.

How close do you want to be to the city of Cincinnati? Just curious, because the first thing that pops into my mind is Oxford, which is about 35 miles northwest of downtown Cincinnati. It's a college town, but maintains a small-town feel. You'd find your banks, restaurants and a super Wal-Mart up there, along with some quaint park areas. There is also Hueston Woods State Park only a short 10 minute drive away, which has plenty of walking trails, a nice sized lake with a beach and playground areas, sail boats, streams, etc.

Let me know just how close you want to be to the big city while still feeling "away" from it. There are other places closeby, including Harrison - which is near the Indiana border, as well as some other places such as Lebanon and Lawrenceburg.

Culturally diverse means a mixture of races. Try Lincoln heights. You won't find it too culturally diverse there. It also have a small town feel. Oh i can't wait for the stereotype responses.

Maybe, just maybe, they prefer to live a simple lifestyle in which they aren't surrounded by high-society types, or porn shops, tattoo parlors, and half-naked men marching in gay pride parades.

Sometimes people just want to live in simple small towns, where there are hard-working people who want their kids to be taught the wholesome family values they believe they should be taught, not exposed to what society thinks they should experience.

the westside is kinda racist too....as a black man, i hate driving on the westside because of the bulldog cops that'll zoom up on your trunk and read your plates, or just plain follow you like a jerk and pull you over ten minutes later for a smudge on your license plate. i like price hill, but i'd rather be in northside or uptown.

Default Wow...what a riot!

I appreciate all the feedback. I do, however, think it is sad that people cannot have an ideal place to live with specific criteria and that becomes offensive to random people. Certain types of cities suit people for different reasons. Thanks to all who have given some useful advice on where to raise my family...free of drama, crime, etc.

Thanks for not reading into my description wrong. We are not rascists...we just want to live in a very specific kind of place. House value in most important, we have taken a hard hit in Charlotte by not being more picky
