i would love this car except take off the silly sport hubcaps and put on some nice conservative ones

The '73 is cool but not nearly as cool as the '68-'70 IMO. The '68 is my fav!

Well, by '73 everything but the big block Trans Am had gotten underpowered due to insurance and emissions regs. And the Charger was always a 2 door Coronet fastback, and rather heavy.
And I agree aboutthe personal luxury effect. My own '72 was an enjoyable car, though I never finished it off, instead selling it to build my Mustang autocross car. But it was a nice mildly built big block in a relatively luxury package for the day:
