These years should look familiar. 1917 of course is the year Allenby walked into Jerusalem. Fifty years (Jubilee) later Israel declared a nation by UNGA. Fifty years later (Jubilee) Christ's return as predicted by Dispensationists. All have the number 7. More: in 604BC Neb. invaded Israel. 2520 years later (1917 - 1260 + 1260) Allenby enters Jerusalem, ending 2520 years of Gentile rule. All coincidence or is there God's hand somewhere in this?

No significance. Numerology is a crock.

There is a good possibility that there is a significance. It's not numerology by any means. God uses certain numbers for a purpose. If memory serves the numbers significant to God are 3,7,50 and I think they're more.

A prophet in the church in which I grew up used to say that Christ would return by 2018.

1917 I believe is when the Zionists sought to re purchase Israel
1947 This is the year Israel was declared a nation and in 1948 they declared their independence
1967 The six day war
2017 Believed to be by many as the most likely date for Christs return.

There has been many dates set forth by socalled prophets but the Lord told us Himself that we would not know for certain until it actually happened.

There are no prophets today, especially one making false predictions!
Sorry, but it's true.

Greetings, my friend, Robin: Again, Jesus did not tell US that WE would not know. The Lord told those disciples right there with Him that not even He knew the day or the hour while He was still on this earth. He did, however, clearly know the generation--HIS generation and the generation in which those disciples were then living. We must acknowledge the audience relevance of passages. He also said to THOSE disciples "YOU watch and be ready!"

In Christ, Preterist

History is more than Judeo-Christian. In the big scheme of things, in 1947, the far more important event (yes, more important than a million people in Israel forming a nation) is that over 400 million people in India and Pakistan became independent.
