I like this color coded graphic:

Graphic: Chicago personality disorder -- chicagotribune.com

I do wish the study included a larger sampling.

I don't like the title of the graphic "Personality Disorder". These are personality traits. In order for a trait to be a personality disorder, it has to prevent someone from functioning normally.

I'm laughing at the very idea of a group of surveyors asking some woman on the southside whether or not she regularly samples new fusion restaurants.

I'm laughing at the very notion of fusion restaurants.

You are correct. The title is not appropriate as only a fraction of those who completed the survey would meet DSM criteria for a full blown personality disorder.

I do like the graphic imagine and the way it highlights the specific areas of data collection based on zip code info. they pulled during the survey.

p.s. the survey is still online and anyone interested can access it at www.outofservice.com/bigfive

OK, I'll buy the "neurotic" assessment of many Northsiders... but man, pretty much the surliest people I've ever met were southsiders. Agreeable me arse, unless you're a fellow southsider.

If we're going to generalize like this, we could just say everyone on the South Side is a criminal because crime is higher down there. It's a ridiculous assertion, but so is this article.

The implications of this article are ridiculous, but the personality test itself is quite interesting, esp. to compare with friends.
