The Marathon was held back in Oct. How could you participate in that event if you already left 2 months ago?

I honestly think they don't have a chance to win the Olympic bid. They can barely manage the mess that is the CTA!! Oh, and I ran in that god awful Chicago marathon too. Was one of the many people who didn't get to finish, sadly.

I really have gained a whole new perspective on Chicago after leaving.

Chicago 2016 Bid Top Contender
Posted 2:23 pm ET (GamesBids.com)

Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games has become a top contender following the successful two-week world boxing championships held in that city.

The event closed Saturday and received praise from International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge and International Boxing Association President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu who declared the championships the best ever.

Wu told reporters, “this tournament will go down as the greatest world championships in the history of the AIBA. With 11 medals spread throughout seven countries and 80 boxers from 37 countries having qualified for the Olympics, this is a perfect illustration of the new AIBA and its honest and transparent officiating”.

Chicago stepped in at the last minute to host the event when Russian failed to meet its financial obligations.

I had to fly back to run it. I had started training for it back in April when I had no clue I was going to be moving to Denver.

So I came home solely to run the marathon..the marathon I trained so hard for, the marathon that I DID NOT FINISH!

yes I miss certain aspects of chicago. The late night greasy joints, for one. Denver definitely lacks in that area, but then again this is the thinnest city in the US! I also miss the walkability of the city-I gotta drive everywhere here!

Rio above Chicago? Madrid above Chicago? Please, man, please...

Chicago doesn't need endless air time on television to prove its significance. Chicago doesn't need Snoop Dogg or Britney Spears to glorify it. They don't have to prove anything, it's all in the facts, it's all in the feel, it's all in the opinion. Chicago is too great.

Why were they idiots? Upper 80 degree heat in a dry climate is not even remotely hot.
