Just got another ticket today for expired license plates on a car parked in my own [mod cut]driveway. That's the second time in 3 months. Why not just break into my house and take $50 -- it's a more honest form of dishonesty.[mod cut]' jerks.

A few years back I made the mistake of taking a trip and parking in the O'hare long-term lot just as my plates expired. When I came two weeks later I had 9 tickets on my car. I tried to fight it but in the end had to pay the full $450. I think I paid $2k total that year in various tickets. Swore that I would leave and never come back .. but here I am. Still pissed though.

Well, no offense, but why don't you just renew the plates like everyone else? Or is it a car you dont use anymore?

If you aren't driving the car just take the plates off. If you are driving it and it has expired plates you should probably renew your registration.

I think I might be better off just taking the damn plates off the car and putting a slip of paper over the VIN number in the windshield. Then maybe it would be too much work for the revenue jackass to figure out to whom he should write the ticket and he'll give a bogus ticket to some other poor sap. I never, ever get a jagoff ticket from a cop, only from revenue agents. God I hate those f#*kin' people. Just break into my house and take what you want and spare us the pretense, you thievin' creeps.

Ah, you parked in the belly of the beast! You should have taken the Blue Line or a cab!

Of course, if you had left your car in your driveway in Beverly it would have apparently been fair game... What are they going to do next, go into people's garages? The bastards can already go into private parking garages--though I'm not sure how this is constitutional.
