Help me out! I'm torn between a loft in Riverwest (at Riverwest Lofts) and one in the South Loop. I'm commuting to the South Side, so South Loop is obviously more convenient to that, but I think the Riverwest nabe might have more going on. Thoughts? Also, any info on safety for these two neighborhoods? (I'm a young female, but I am from Brooklyn, so I know how to keep my eyes open)

Thanks!!

Yes, River West has more going on and is closer to happenin' North Side spots. Both areas are relatively safe, or at least as safe as Bklyn. But you do want to make sure you know where the CHA projects and homeless shelters are, and avoid living too close to either.

The South Loop has far more residents than does River West.

Well, I ended up going with RiverWest. I just couldn't get myself excited about South Loop even though it's way closer to my job. Thanks for the reply!
