I see your point, but I guess it's what specific entrees you like at each of those places. Personally, I love the onion string appetizer that Maggiano's has...can't find anything like that at Olive Garden, even though I love Olive Garden too.

I've been to Weber a few times for steaks, and I would say it's in the top 5 of all steakhouses I've been to. That might just mean that I've gotten lucky though, because I've been with some other people that didn't love it as much as me.

Hit up bars near Wrigley or along Clark, Lincoln, somewhere up north in Lincoln Park or Lakeview.

Most tourists just go to the overpriced and touristy bars around Rush and Division. You don't find a lot of locals there, so I'd explore just a few miles north of there in Lakeview....

And yes, stay downtown. That burb you're going to be in is over 50 miles from Chicago.
